Where Are We Now?

For the next few months, Tory and Chris will be enjoying the arrestingly multinational Swiss city of Geneva. Renowned for it’s political neutrality, Switzerland is a highly functional country about the size of West Viriginia. It’s 7.5 million inhabitants enjoy a country of great natural beauty, and eat a ton of cheese.
Known for it’s banking, horological, cheese, and international non-profit tendencies, Suisse has four official languages: English, French, German, and Italian. Geneva, the country’s second most-populous city (after chic Zürich), is often mistaken for the capital (thanks for nothing, Bern!) due to the concentration of diplomatic and economic organizations that reside here. Geneva is home to the UN’s European HQ, as well as ICRC, IFRC, UNHCR, UN/OCHA, WTO, IOM, CERN, ILO, WHO, WIPO, ISO, WCC, WEF, YWAM, and MSF. Wow!
Particularly cool is the famed Jet d’Eau (above), which shoots water 450 feet into the air at 125mph. At any given moment, there is 7 TONS of water in the air. Also neat is Geneva’s network of charming aqua-taxis, Les Mouetttes (below).
